The following questions are the ones I am most frequently about the prophetic, along with my answers.

What is Prophecy?
Prophecy is a message from God, inspired by Holy Spirit.
2 Peter 1:21 says: “For prophecy never came by the will of man, but
holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.”

Is Prophecy for today?
Yes, Prophecy is definitely and still for today. There is no age in God's Spirit and He
is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. Hebrew 13:8). It is one of the spiritual gifts mentioned
in 1 Corinthians 12:4-11:
“There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are
differences of ministries, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of activities, but
it is the same God who works [e]all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to
each one for the profit of all: for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to
another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit,
to another gifts of healing by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to
another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues,
to another the interpretation of tongues. But one and the same Spirit works
all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.”
Is there a difference between the gift of prophecy
and the Office of a Prophet?
Yes. 1 Corinthians 14:31 says: “For you can all prophesy one by one, that all may learn and all may
be encouraged. ” The purpose of personal prophecy is to strengthen, encourage and comfort according
to 1 Corinthians 14:3. For a better understanding on the prophetic and the difference between the
gift of prophecy and the office of a prophet, I would recommend reading books by
Dr. Bill Hamon on the prophetic. Please see the link below:

Did you always know you were a prophet?
No. The Bible says in Romans 11:29: "For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable."
I was born a prophet but did not know it until after I was saved in 1996. It was basically a “knowing” in
my spirit, just as I sensed I was an intercessor. From the time I was saved, I had an intense desire to prophesy and pray like Jesus. Over the years that followed, different people I met would tell me I was
a prophet. In addition, some prophetic words I received in due course conveyed the words that I was
a "trumpet” or an “oracle,” giving me confirmation, according to 2 Corinthians 13:1. Unfortunately
the church I attended at the time, did not have any training in the prophetic. God led me by
His Holy Spirit to different prophetic churches in order to gain knowledge about this gift and also
help me to be trained in the prophetic. During that time, I discovered Dr. Bill Hamon’s books
on the prophetic. They were invaluable resources and helped me to understand things like
prophetic protocol and so forth. Experience serving on various prophetic teams gave me a
chance to spread my wings under the guidance of more mature prophets.

How do you prophesy over someone you have never
seen, with only a note from the person asking a prophecy?
When I get a request for a prophetic word for someone, I spend time with the Lord in
worship and prayer. I also pray in tongues. As I worship and pray, He will speak to me and I write
down His message for that individual. At times, He may give me a word of knowledge that reveals
something about the person in the past, present or future. Other times, He may give me a vision.
Please understand, I am only the vessel He chooses to deliver a message and I can not do this
in my own strength. It is Holy Spirit who helps me and all Glory belongs to God the Father.
How is a person to judge if a prophecy they receive is true?
Deuteronomy 18:10-:22 says, if the word comes to pass, it is from God. Often, a prophet
will give a word that will not come to pass for many, many years. 1 Corinthians 13:9 also says,
“For we know in part and we prophesy in part.” Please remember prophets are human. As the vessel,
we are responsible to deliver the message and do not always have a revelation of when the word
shall come to pass, unless revealed through a word of knowledge. I always tell people to put the
word on a shelf in the heart and wait. The timing is in God's hands. Please remember, His word
is confirmed by two or three witnesses. (2 Corinthians 13:1).

What should I do with a prophetic word once I receive it?
It is the responsibility of the person who receives the word to pray over it and ask God for revelation
about it. Ask yourself, does it bear witness with your spirit? Is it a “now” word or for your future?
What is the meaning of any visions mentioned in the prophetic word? These are questions you must
ask God for revelation about. A prophet is only the messenger and vessel. They hear and know in part
and thus prophesy in part. A message is not meant to be interpreted by the prophet unless the revelation
is given by a word of knowledge. The apostle John was warned about this in Revelation 22:18-19.
